Lessons Learned from Fabtech

December 6, 2013

Last month I attended Fabtech in Chicago. For those of you unfamiliar with this show, it is the largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event in North America. This year there were more than 40,000 attendees and 1,573 exhibitors.
It is always impressive to see first-hand the latest technology innovations. From machines that can set-up themselves, to those with ultra-tight tolerances, the future of this industry is very exciting.  Of course, finding the right balance between the cost of this new technology and the return on investment regarding capabilities and sales is always something to consider.

If you haven’t been, I would strongly encourage you to attend this event next year. There is so much value is exposing yourself and your team to new points of view. Learning from others can challenge your thinking on existing operations and lead to improved efficiencies.  I personally learned at least one new strategy to implement at Arrow that will keep us moving in the right direction and benefit our customers with even faster service.
